Is New Zealand a Future Maker or a Future Taker? Thinking about
the future requires information, imagination and the courage to be
honest. These THOUGHT STARTERS are informed by conversations
held with high-profile experts in September 2008 in Wellington.
They are aimed to start us thinking about New Zealand's future in a
global context. FutureMakers takes the sole responsibility for
their contents. These cards represent some of the stories and
questions that have arisen as important for the future of New
Zealand. They are THOUGHT STARTERS – neither the beginning nor the
end of futures thinking. They don’t combine to make a picture –
some contradict each other, some overlap, some unfold in different
directions – there are gaps between them where many other futures
are possible.
